Nearly 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast woke up without power on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms passed over the area, generating wind gusts topping over 100 km/h.

Residents observed large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7cm in some areas. Weather authorities confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Emergency crews were working to restore electricity service throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams activated to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
Meanwhile, around 1,000 residents in the southern state also experienced power outages after the metropolitan area recorded its most precipitation in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services received nearly 600 calls for help across the state, primarily for property damage but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

- Hoppers Crossing - various emergency calls
- Wyndham region - over 175 calls for assistance
At the height on the previous day, over 28,000 power users in the state were lacking electricity.
Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the most rainy day, with continued severe weather risk expected across different parts of both regions.

Medical authorities warned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
